Kenneth Nathaniel Wilkerson age 92, returned to his loving Savior on October 29, 2017 at the Sr. Villa.
Born June 25, 1925 in Neola, the son of William and Leona Workman Wilkerson . He married his beloved wife, Coleen Anderson on December 4, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple.
He served a mission to the Southern States Mission from 1951-1953. He is a veteran of World War II where he served in the navy for 3 years. He was a wonderful craftsman building many beautiful homes in the SLC area. After moving to Neola he finished out his career as a custodian at the elementary school. He loved working with the scouts and served as scoutmaster for many years. Other favorite callings were gospel doctrine teacher and ward missionary.
Some of the greatest joys in his life were his family, friends, ranching, serving in church and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Coleen of 64 years and their 6 kids. LaRue (Timothy Turner), Eileen, Mike, Julie, Tammy (Ryan Ewell), Helen (Mike Norris), 23 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild on the way. He still has one brother alive, Edwin Wilkerson. They have been particularly close the last few years.
Preceded in death by parents and four siblings: Aaron, Donna Lundell, Leora Walker, Edith Lamb.
Special thanks to all his caretakers at the Villa and his wonderful doctor Gary Graham who served him so faithfully.
His great strength and example will be missed by many.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Neola LDS Chapel. A viewing will be held from 12:00 - 12:45 p.m.
Burial in the Neola Cemetery with military honors presented by the Roosevelt American Legion.
