Kenneth Bywater Morton, age 85, of Cedarview, passed away on April 27, 2025 at his home .
Kenneth was born on June 18, 1939, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Emery Llewelyn and Dorothy Myrle Morton.
Ken served in the United States Army in the 101st Airborne. Ken said that he loved the Army, but would never do it again.
On February 10, 1962, Ken married the love of his life, Myrna Consuelo Lopez, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and had one child, son Kenneth Clint (K.C.) Morton.
Ken worked as a crane operator for Kennecott Copper Mine until his retirement in 1995. He and Myrna have resided in Bountiful, Utah, until Ken’s retirement, at which time they moved to Cedarview, Utah, near Roosevelt, where they could stretch out, spend time with the animals around their home, and enjoy a quieter life.
Ken enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, hiking, and shooting. He carved amazing works of art from wood. In his younger years, Ken enjoyed riding mountain bikes and dirt bikes along the mountain trails.
The most important thing to Ken was his family and friends, and he is lovingly referred to as being “Larger than life.”
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Myrna, four grandchildren, Misty (Clay) Ivie, Shad Prisbrey, Leon (Kenna) Morton, and Lanita (Tim Johnson) Morton. Seven great-grandchildren, Braxton, MacKenzie, Payton, Cali, Cadence, Corbin, and Donovan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Monte Morton, and his son, K.C. Morton.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 11 am at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery (2350 E 1300 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84108), with military honors presented.
Dinner at 2 pm for family and friends at LDS Church (14400 South Redwood Rd., Bluffdale, Utah, following services.
