Kenneth W. Carrell, age 98, of Roosevelt, Utah, passed away May 21, 2023 at his daughter, Marilyn Snow’s, home in St. George, Utah.
He was born February 7, 1925 in Upalco, to Fredrick and Winnifred Williams Carrell. Kenneth had two sisters and was the middle child.
Kenneth met June Rogers before going into the Army. Ken and June were married for time and all eternity on October 15, 1946, in the Salt Lake City Temple. She died November 6, 2019.
They made their first home in Upalco. Later they moved to Provo, St. George, Monticello, Roosevelt, and then back to St. George.
Ken was a dairy farmer and hauled milk for Hiland Dairy for many years. He then decided to attend Brigham Young University. While attending BYU, he worked at the university farm. Ken graduated in 1967 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Husbandry.
Kenneth was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he held many callings. He loved the Savior as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his four children; Bobby K. (Nancy) Carrell, Marilyn (Norman) Snow, Paul R. (Denise) Carrell, and Patsy (Val) Jaramillo, 25 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and brother-in-law Fay Rogers.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Winnifred; his wife, June; sisters; Monteze Cant, Berniece Thacker; great-grandson; Bronx Young and grandson, Brendan Kent Jaramillo.
The funeral services will be held on Friday May 26, 2023 at 11:00am at the Roosevelt East Stake Center, 502 North 600 East. There will be a viewing from 10:00am-10:45am at the church prior to the services.
The burial will be at the Upalco Cemetery.
