Kay Nielsen Allen peacefully departed from this beautiful world surrounded by family and loved ones on August 4, 2022. Kay was born on May 6, 1941 in Midvale, Utah and was a beloved daughter to Vern and Leah Jones Nielsen.
Kay grew up in Clearfield, Utah and attended Davis High School. She was an artist with many talents. She enjoyed crocheting, drawing, making jewelry, painting nails, and going shopping. She loved rock and roll especially the "King" and anything with some "bling bling" in it! She always sparkled from the way she dressed to her personality, she was full of life, loved to watch scary movies, to dance, and create a little mischief.
Kay was married to Doyle Allen on April 5, 1959 in Clearfield, Utah. Later they were sealed on April 21, 1971 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were blessed with 3 beautiful children. Kay was a devoted wife, mother, and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served as the ward and stake librarian, as well as a primary teacher.
Kay was preceded in death by her baby boy, her parents Vern and Leah Nielsen and her husband, Doyle Allen. She is survived by her children Lisa (Richard)Gilbert, Darline (George) Allen, and Jeffery(Marion) Allen. Her 13 grandkids and 22 great grandkids. Her siblings, Colleen (Hal) Stonebraker, Sharon (Carl) Jensen, Lyn (JaNae) Nielsen, and Grant (Danna) Nielsen. She was a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother and was loved by everyone who met her. She will be greatly missed.
Special thanks to those who watched over her in her last few months, her hospice nurse Kim, her daughter Darline, her granddaughters, Ami, Shayle and Aubrey and her sister, Sharon.
An evening viewing will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 11:00 am also at the mortuary where family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:30 – 10:45 am prior to the services. Interment will be held at a later date in the Clearfield City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
