Karrie Ellen McKee, age 57, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 2, 2016, from cardiac arrest at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital.
Karrie Ellen was born on May 28, 1959, to Judith Cannon Nelson & Leo Arnold Jardine, Jr., in Salt Lake City. She was the third of seven children. She graduated from East High School and attended Utah State University where she met and married Craig Swainston Criddle. Karrie Ellen and Craig were married for twenty-seven years and then divorced. They had four children and eight grandchildren.
Karrie Ellen was primarily a Salt Lake area resident but during her lifetime also resided in parts of central Michigan and San Francisco Bay Area. Her first career was a loving mother to her four children. Later in life, her second career was as a first grade teacher, which brought her to Roosevelt, where she met her husband Clark McKee of Tridell. They were married in the Oquirrh Mountain LDS Temple on November 6, 2015, where she gained an additional seven children, their respective significant others, and twelve grandchildren.
She was known to be an exceptionally strong woman with a free and adventurous spirit. She thoroughly enjoyed painting, sewing, crafting, journaling and many other creative outlets. She had recently taken a love of cattle farming. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Karrie Ellen is survived by her husband, Clark B. McKee; her children, Spencer Jardine (Candice) Criddle, Lani Criddle (Matt) Wilkinson, Stephanie Criddle (Michael) Landers , Trevor Nelson Criddle, Scott Duane (Cory) McKee, Casey S. (Sara) McKee, Kris (Brian) Dragoo, Mindy (Chris) Deets, Jana (Jason) Nickell, Nicholas Clark (Andrea) McKee, and Alyssa (Brandon) Johns; her mother, Judith Canon Nelson Jardine; her siblings, Lynette Peters, Jennifer Vera, Jacquelyn Meyers, Kathy Seninger, Julie McKeon, and James Jardine; and 20 grandchildren as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leo Arnold Jardine, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016 at the LaPoint LDS Chapel, 6877 N 10600 E, LaPoint with a viewing from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Tridell Cemetery.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Salt Lake Bonneville LDS Church, 1535 Bonneview Dr. (access from 1500 East and 1000 South). Casual, "fun" attire is encouraged, as she would want us to joyfully celebrate her life.
