Karen Marx, age 36, of Roosevelt, our sweet daughter, sister, aunt and friend returned home to our Father in Heaven on March 13, 2020.
Karen was born December 23, 1983, in Price, Utah to Larry and Anita Marx. She is the youngest of five children.
Karen graduated from Union High School, then served an honorable mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Baltimore, MD. She then earned a degree from LDS Business College.
Karen courageously endured many health challenges in her life including cancer at a young age, several bouts of meningitis and a severe stroke in 2013. Karen’s unconquerable spirit prevailed and she never lost hope.
Karen loved life; particularly time with her family. She loved her nieces and nephews; supporting their various activities and spoiling them on Christmas and birthdays. She also loved playing card games.
She possessed a giving and selfless spirit often thinking of others needs before her own.
As a cancer survivor, Karen walked proudly in the Relay for Life for many years. She served faithfully in the Salt Lake City and Vernal Temples. She also enjoyed
being a primary teacher. Karen had a deep and profound testimony of Jesus Christ;
demonstrated by how she treated others.
Although we are saddened by her passing, we know that she is happy, free of pain and we find peace and joy in Christ. Families are eternal and God’s promises are sure. We
wish to thank all that have expressed their sympathies and love. Thank you to Chris
Livingston for her loving nursing care. May Karen’s example of kindness live in us
forever.
She is survived by her parents, siblings, Melissa (Malik) Hamilton, Pittsburg, PA; Craig (Erin) Marx, Spanish Fork; Preston (Tami) Marx, Roosevelt; Sterling (Jennifer) Marx, Brigham; 17 special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, nephew, Zack Marx, Blaine & Winona Marx, Glenna Marx, and Lee & Lael Miller.
