Karen Marie Thomas Babcock, age 71, of Duchesne, passed away at the Utah Valley Medical Center in Provo, Utah, on April 3, 2023 with her sister-in-law, Hazel and niece Michianna by her side.
Karen was born January 25, 1952 in Heber, Utah to J Weston and Alice Marie Buckalew Thomas. She married Don Wayne Babcock on October 14, 1978. They were sealed in the Vernal Temple on October 25, 2014. He died March 4, 2017.
Through the years Karen had worked as a waitress at the Current Creek Lodge, a teller at Zions Bank and then for many years was co-owner and operator of the Basin Lube & Tire in Duchesne.
She enjoyed crocheting, tole painting, ceramics, cross stitching and embroidery work.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in primary, nursery and scouting.
She is survived by her children, Wayne Babcock, Wendy Babcock and brother, LaMar Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her infant brother, Gordon Thomas, her parents, and husband.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Duchesne 1st & 3rd Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Duchesne City Cemetery.
