Joycie Mae Cornell

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at the Baptist Church, 402 North Hillcrest Drive.

Joycie Mae “Granny” Cornell, age 87, of Roosevelt, passed away August 23, 2020, at her home.
She was born December 24, 1932, in Bridgeport, Texas, to Marvin Russell Lee and Ora Mae Vanhoose Barber.  She married Dan Turner Keen and he later passed away.  She married Chuck Charles Cornell, and he later passed away.
Joycie was a hardworker.  She had worked as a waitress, and also took care of the animals on her farm when she was younger.  She enjoyed crocheting, drinking coffee, camping, fishing, road tripping, and shopping.  She loved to help others, especially feeding them – no one ever left her home hungry.   She adored her children and grandchildren and they will miss her dearly.
Joycie is survived by her sons, Alvin Lee (Beverly) Keen, Kansas; Michael (Tracy) Keen, Roosevelt; 13 grandchildren, Sabrina, Kimberly, David, Larry, Chris, Stacey, Terry, Wayne, Tiffany, Jessica, Victoria, Pamala, Ethan, Joseph Deborah, and Machelle, numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances Dilleshaw, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Diane Daniels & Pamela Keen; a granddaughter, Angela; brothers, Harold, Ronnie, Keith, & Darrold Barber; and a sister, Leota Kennedy.
The family has chosen cremation and services may be held at a later date.
