Joyce Murphy

Joyce C. Padgett Murphy, age 85, of Roosevelt, passed away August 28, 2023, in Provo, surrounded by her family.
    She was born December 11, 1937, in Olney, Illinois, to Victor and Beatrice Padgett.  In 1954, she married Lewis “Schuyler” Murphy in Illinois and then they made their way to Utah.  Into this marriage was born seven children.
    Joyce was a loving mom, wife, and grandmother.  She was well known for her divinity at the Holly Fair, her sassiness, and also enjoyed crafting, cooking, reading, homemaking, and just being a mom.  She was also a bookkeeper at “Murphy’s Savemore.”  She enjoyed family gatherings, phone calls, and mail.  We send her off to her home in Heaven and to her life time love, Schuyler Murphy.  
    Joyce is survived by her children: Cindi Harris, Grand Juntion, Colorado; Dallas (Kate) Murphy, Olney; Patrick Murphy, Grand Junction; Bonnie Murphy, Lehi; Daniel Murphy, Olney; Bruce Murphy, Roosevelt, Utah; 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and last but not least, a very special friend, Brandie Sherman.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Schuyler; a son, Michael, an two infant grandchildren.  
    Rather than funeral services, she preferred a Celebration of Life which will be held at a later date.
