Joy Nielsen

Joy Levett Thompson Nielsen, age 70, of Duchesne, passed away November 21, 2015, at the Intermountain Medical Center.
She was born September 26, 1945, in Heber City, to John Orvel and Lois Tomlinson Thompson. She married Leon Nielsen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1997. They later divorced.
Joy was the most perfect mother and all the neighbors and their kids became her own. She had a big heart and would go without so you could have. There was an ornery streak, but it was mostly for show. She had a great fondness for animals, especially her dogs, Fresca, Missy, and Rooster Woo Woo. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, bottling, camping, bowling, horseback riding, playing cards and putting together puzzles. She loved to be with people, whether it was while they were working on a car or at the coffee shop.
Joy is survived by her children, Lynn (Judy) Nielsen, Fruitland; Jody (Melissa) Nielsen, Jennifer (Joe) Madsen, both of Duchesne; Jeffrey (Angela) Nielsen, Murray; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Leola Olsen, Duchesne; and everyone else's kids as well.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Nichole Cummings; her parents and her 8 brothers and sisters.
A viewing was held on Monday, November 30, 2015, at the Duchesne LDS Stake Center. Afterwards she was be cremated.
