Jordan Van

September 12, 1989 — December 31, 2024

Roosevelt

The funeral service will be live-streamed here.

Jordan Colby Van, age 35, passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 31, 2024, in Roosevelt, Utah. He was born on September 12, 1989, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Benito Van and Laura Taylor.
In 2017, Jordan met the love of his life, Makale Rae Hill, and they became engaged shortly thereafter. Jordan lovingly embraced Makale's three daughters, Nina, Leela, and Arabella, as his own, and in 2020, they joyfully welcomed their son, Chad, completing their family.
From the day he was born, Jordan was the heart and humor of the family. Known for his quick wit and unforgettable one-liners, he could light up any room. As a teenager, he channeled his energy into a passion for skateboarding and a unique sense of fashion that only he could pull off. In his adult years, Jordan’s love for golf became a cherished pastime, and he developed a penchant for collecting shoes, stylish clothes, and tattoos—always eager to plan his next one. Above all, Jordan’s greatest devotion was to his family, whom he loved unconditionally and with his whole heart.
Jordan shared a special bond with his older brother, Chad, whose passing left an indelible mark on him. Their connection was one of a kind, like a modern-day "odd couple." We find comfort in imagining their joyful reunion.
Jordan is survived by his fiancée, Makale, and their four children: Nina, Leela, Arabella, and Chad. He is also survived by his parents, Benito Van and Laura Taylor; siblings Bruno Tomaino, Arwen Lorimor, Crystal Alderson, Dusty (Ashley) Tomaino, and Briar Van; as well as many nieces, nephews, and two great-nieces.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Obie and Joan Taylor; paternal grandparents, Roger and Marilyn Griffin; and his beloved brother, Chad Tomaino.
Jordan’s legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Services to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary. There will be a viewing from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m.  Burial will be in the Monarch Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to support his children’s future.
