Johnnie A. Tabbee, age 51, of Myton, passed away January 25, 2016, at the University of Utah hospital after a nine year battle with kidney and heart disease.
He was born July 28, 1964, in Roosevelt, to John and Kathleen Martinez Tabbee and was raised by Verl & LaRae Murphy. He graduated from Union High School and then served a mission for the LDS Church in Arizona.
He married NilaDe McKenna, and they were later divorced.
Johnnie was a hardworker and had been the manager at Ute Crossing Grill and Bowling. He enjoyed his job and the people he worked with. He had a passion for all sports and he helped coach the Union High School Girls Softball team for many years. He was an avid fan of the Utah Jazz and the Minnesota Vikings. His other pastimes were camping and fishing, especially at Big Springs.
He loved his kids and fought long and hard to stay with them. His teasing, joking, and generosity will be missed by everyone.
Johnnie is survived by his children, Dillon John Tabbee, SLC; Rikki Lyn (Monte Cuch) Tabbee, Vernal; Rylee Jean Tabbee, Roosevelt; brothers and sisters, Kevin Tabbee, CO; Raelyn Christensen, Myton; Verl Murphy, Thailand; Jane (Steve) Casper, SLC; Robert (Cindy) Murphy, Bluffdale; Ben (Ingrid) Murphy, Massachusetts; parents-in-law, DeNile & Fay McKenna; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and relatives throughout Utah and Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Kathleen; adoptive parents, Verl & LaRae; brother and sisters, Mary Ellen Campbell, Mikel Murphy, and an infant grandbaby.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at the Roosevelt LDS Stake Center. There will be a wake after 4:00 p.m. Friday at his home in Ft. Duchesne on LaMesa Drive, and a viewing on Saturday at the church from 9:30-10:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Randlett Cemetery.
