JoAnna Marie LaRose

   
JoAnna Marie LaRose, age 80, of Ft. Duchesne, passed away March 25, 2020, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born January 31, 1940, in Ouray, to Henry and Vera E Serawop Cesspooch.  She married Rex LaRose on November 16, 1960, in Ft. Duchesne.  He died on August 1, 2015.
JoAnna worked 37 years as a medical records technician with the Uintah & Ouray Indian Health Services.  She enjoyed traveling, going to casinos – especially in Wendover – bowling, golf, and when she was younger, basketball and softball. She had a great fondness for turtles.  She attended and participated in the Bear Dances, Sundances, and Pow Wows.  She was a member of the Episcopal Church.
She loved her family and especially adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
JoAnna is survived by her children, Pauline (Lew) Hackford, Leeton, UT; Linda (Doug) Brotherson, Roosevelt; Mary LaRose, Michael Rex (Shannon) LaRose, both of Ft. Duchesne; nieces whom she raised as her own, Julie Lomahaftewa, Sherrilla McKinley, Michelle (Aaron) Sabori, Laura Kagenveama, Pat (Keith) Secola; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way; siblings, Venice Shavanaux, and Dru McConkie; and numerous other nieces and nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry & Vera; an infant daughter; siblings, Rodell Cesspooch, Reuben Cesspooch, Danny Shavanaux, Bennett Shavanaux, Eddie Cesspooch, LaDean Hamilton, Frances McKinley, and Jimmy Cesspooch.  
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 30, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary with a viewing from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday.  Because of the COVID-19 recommendations, the service and viewing will be limited to family and close friends.  Please use your discretion. 
Cremation will follow the services
