Joann T Thomas was born to Herlof Anker Jacobsen and Ranghild Dagmar Olsen on August 26, 1937 in Los Angeles, California and passed away on November 25, 2023 at Casey’s Pond Retirement Village in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She was 86 years old.

Joann completed High School in Canoga Park, California.

On December 8, 1956 she married Jake C. Heflin. Jake passed away on September 4, 1987 and Joann married Ted Thomas on October 18, 1992, he passed away on February 23, 2012

Joann was a dedicated wife and mother who enjoyed cooking and baking.

She was a member of the Pentecostal Assembly of God Church.

Joann loved Church activities and Bible studies and Christian Women’s Retreats.

She was a dedicated and sought after employee with every job she undertook.

She took special pride in every child.

Joann is survived by her children, Jim Heflin (Karol) of Eagle, Colorado and their children – Jimmy Cody Heflin (Amy), Jimmie Dawn Heflin, Pamela Crabtree (Daniel); Mick Heflin (Lorraine Mulonet) of Chinook, Montana; Patty Harris (Dave) of Great Falls, Montana; Judy Elliott Nelson (Jeff) of Walden, Colorado and their children – Jamie Schallot (Mike), Summer Marshall (Trip), April, Niles, Augusta; Bill Heflin (Chandra) of Grand Junction, Colorado and their children – Joseph Heflin (Rachel), Jordan Heflin, Jacob Heflin; Peggy Gurr (Roy) of Roosevelt, Utah and their children – J.D. Gurr (Shelby), Dillon Gurr.

She also leaves behind her stepchildren: Susan Nielson (Floyd) of Myton, Utah; Cindee Whitaker (Wes) of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Charla Crosby of Vernal, Utah.

Joann had numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Joann is preceded in death by her parents and stepchildren Guy Thomas and Teddy Thomas.

There will be a Memorial Service for Joann on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Martin Mortuary, 550 North Avenue, Grand Junction, Colorado and will be placed at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grand Junction, Colorado.
