Richard James “Jim” Brough, age 75, of Neola, Utah passed away on June 21, 2023.
Jim was born January 19, 1948 in Roosevelt, Utah to Grant and Lydia Brough. He grew up on the family farm in Randlett, Utah.
After graduating high school in 1966 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country during the Vietnam War. He served diligently until 1972 when he was honorably discharged.
After completing his service, Jim returned to the Uintah Basin and began working in the oil field and trucking industry. His love of driving winch trucks led to the start up of his own company NJ Trucking, later named Brough Trucking and Crane Services. His work ethic was always something that he took pride in.
However, when he wasn’t working, he enjoyed going hunting, fishing, camping and taking his children water skiing.
In his later years, Jim enjoyed serving with the American Legion and running the beer wagon at the Duchesne County Fair. He also loved attending classic car shows, watching westerns, teasing his grandchildren, and eating his favorite cookies.
He is survived by his brother, Samual Brough; ex-wife, Nancy Thompson, their four children, Gary Brough, Kristy (Cogan) Clayburn, Bryan (Emalee) Brough, Amanda (Aaron) Pollard; grandchildren, Samantha Brough, Hailee Brough, Cheyenn (Nicholas) Burton, Quart (Breanne) Clayburn, Josie Clayburn, Zoe and Riley Hansen; great-grandchildren, Shaylee and Kaizlee Burton and Atlee and Rawlins Clayburn.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Lynette Brough.
