Alvin James “Jim” Allen, age 73, of Duchesne, passed away February 13, 2025, at his home.
He was born August 4, 1951, in Vernal, Utah, to Alvin Austin and Ona Givens Allen.
Jim served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam, and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
He married Janet Butler, and they later divorced. He married Lana Hammon, and they later divorced. He met Susan Taylor in 1995 and they married on March 10, 2007, in Duchesne.
Jim was a truck driver for most of his life. At first as a long haul carrier. He loved to tell stories about long nights and CB conversations. Then later in the oil field. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding horses. He would answer the call of a friend in need no matter the time of day.
Jim is survived by his wife, Susan, of Duchesne; children, Angela (Troy) Buck, Randalynn Hickman, Cody (Katy) Allen, Misty Anderson, Susan (Gary) Shepherd, Jeffery Taylor, Becky (Ryan) Wolf, Jimmy (Kandi) Sauter, Franky (Emma) Sauter, Tiffany (Kyle) Meier; 21 grandkids and 9 great-grandkids; a brother, Rex (Mona) Allen, Jensen, Utah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Gerri Sperry, Leona Cook, Judy Allen, Bill Allen, Benny Allen, and a grandson, William Meier.
Per his wishes, he was cremated. There will be a celebration of life with military honors at a later date.
