Jerri Lee Roberts Runnels, age 60, of Roosevelt, passed away unexpectedly on September 28, 2016, in her RV on Taylor Mountain, one of her favorite places.
She was born December 5, 1955, in Salt Lake City, to Elaine Henrietta Freeman and Roy William Roberts. She married Jerry Wayne Runnels on April 11, 1992 in Elko, Nevada.
Jerri attended Weber State University and earned a degree in nursing. She worked for many years in the Uintah Basin Medical Center healthcare system as a nurse for the hospital, the Sr. Villa (when it was Stewart's Care Center), and hospice. She really enjoyed her job and the people she worked with. Her favorite pastimes were crocheting, crafts, baking, camping, and being in the mountains. She became a member of the Order of the Eastern Star on March 26, 1998, and was Worthy Matron 8 times.
She was a wonderful mother and grandmother with a little bit of a stubborn streak. She loved and adored her family, and her grandkids and great-grandkids were always with her. She will be dearly missed.
Jerri is survived by her husband, Jerry Wayne Runnels; children, Carol (Mike) Leighton; Jenifer (Kevin) Lister, all of Roosevelt; Roy (Christine) Alexander, East Carbon; Cory (Samantha) Alexander, Roosevelt; Naomi (Brian) Hyde, Rock Springs, WY; Jon (Michelle) Runnels, Vernal; Lisa (Richard) Torres, Baytown, TX; Jason (Jodie) Runnels, Roosevelt; 28 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, an uncle, two aunts, several cousins, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death hy her parents, Elaine and Roy; brother, Melvin Roberts, and an infant brother, Marvin.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at the Utah State University Branch Campus Multi-purpose room, 987 East Lagoon, Roosevelt.
