Jerome Jensen

February 14, 1979 — August 30, 2024

Lapoint, UT

Jerome Ross “JR” Jensen, age 45, of Lapoint, passed away August 30, 2024 at his home.
He was born February 14, 1979, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Bruce and Cynthia Irene Hancock Jensen. Jerome attended Skyline High School, and graduated from Uinta Basin Technical College with his Certificate in heavy equipment operations.

Jerome was known as a man with a Heart of GOLD who dedicated himself in doing quiet, random acts of kindness for others.  Many of which we do not even know.  Jerome’s legacy of spreading smiles and unconditional love for his family, especially his mother who meant the world to him, will forever be remembered. His vibrant and witty personality brought light and laughter to every gathering. He was admired by all, and to many, he was not just a friend but a “little brother”.  His dedication to hard work, and passion for it, will continue to inspire those who knew him.  He had a deep bond with his nieces and nephews, and loved to support them in many ways including various sports and activities.
Jerome worked as a heavy equipment operator for a road construction company and owned his own lawn care business.  Jerome’s adventurous spirit and love for nature often led him to one of his favorite things, long horseback rides in the mountains he loved, where he found beauty, peace, and closeness to his Savior.  He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing basketball, movies and spending time with family.
Jerome is survived by his mother, Irene Jensen Schuening, step-father Robert Schuening, Lapoint; siblings, Robert Jensen, Lapoint; Erma (Roger) Rainey, St. George; Jennette Glover, Salt Lake City; Kristie Smith, Sandy; KB (Chelsie) Jensen, Neola; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Jensen; paternal grandparents, Erma and Edward (Ted) Jensen, maternal grandparents, Andrew and Ruby Hancock; brother, Wayne Jensen; brother-in-law Anthony “Tony” Glover; nephews, Charles Jerome “CJ’ and David Glover; nieces, Maleah and Annaka Glover.
The last goodbye’s the hardest one to say.  This is where the cowboy rides away.
Ride with the angels Jerome!  We love you!!
