Isabel Montes

Isabel Marie Valdez Montes, age 73, of Neola, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2015 at her daughter's home in Whiterocks.
Isabel was born February 28, 1942 in Alamosa, CO to Mercelino and Antonia Garcia Valdez. She married David E. Montes on May 16, 1959 in Brigham City. He died March 21, 2014.
Isabel loved to go to Wendover to gamble, she belong to several bowling teams through the years, her and David travel throughout the USA with their horses running and winning many races, she worked as a head start teacher for several years. Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren, whom she cherished with all of her heart. She had a special spot in her heart for Kessley LaRose and Kenna Harris whom she helped raise.
Isabel is survived her children, Lisa (Heath) UncaSam, Vicky Montes, Thomas Montes, Anthony (Kami) Montes, Roddy (Mary) Montes, Stephanie (Carl) Christensen, Davie (Tawni) Montes, Marcelino (Esper) Montes, Jennifer Montes 38 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, siblings, Kelly (Juanita) Valdez, Alfonso (Patty) Garcia, Ida Jeppson, and Mary Martinez.
Preceded in death by her husband, David, her parents; grandchildren, Franchesca Christensen, Patrick Montes, Nina Montes, Isabel Montes, siblings, Nelson Valdez, Rumeldo Valdez, Dee Montoya and Pete.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary. A wake will be held after 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday at her home.
Cremation will follow services.
