Ileen Kurip Standing Rock

    Ileen LuAnn Kurip Standing Rock, age 67, of Ft. Duchesne, Utah, passed away September 13, 2024, at the Uintah Basin Medical Center in Roosevelt, Utah.  
    She was born July 6, 1957, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Roger and Lucille Tonompicket Kurip.  She married Kenneth Standing Rock, Sr., and they later divorced.
    Ileen enjoyed doing beadwork, gardening, baking, and decorating her home.  She was a major shopper, and always worked to find a good deal.  She lived and raised her family on the Rocky Boy Indian Reservation near Havre, Montana. It was a place she loved.  
    Ileen is survived by her children,  LuElla Kurip, Sonya Standing Rock, Gideon (Esther) Standing Rock, Kenna Standing Rock, Kenneth Standing Rock, Jr., Jamie (Jose) Standing Rock, Saunders Standing Rock; 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, Roger “Ed” (Carleen) Kurip, Kathy Kurip; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by a daughter, Leoatah Kurip; a son, Sundance Standing Rock; her parents; a brother, Aaron Kurip; and a sister Rebecca Kurip.
    Funeral services will be held in Parker School, Montana.
