Herald "Hack" Newbold, Jr.

    Herald Moroni “Hack” Newbold, Jr., age 92, of Roosevelt, passed away March 22, 2015, at the Veteran’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.
    He was born September 1, 1922, in Downey, Idaho, to Louise Bloxham and Herold Moroni Newbold, Sr.  He married Wilma Sarah Fuller on February 13, 1946, in Pocatello, Idaho.  
    He served in the US Army during World War II, being stationed in Sicily, Africa, and Italy.                                  
    Hack was a fantastic outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, and riding horses.  He was a carpenter by trade and always had a project going until he lost his eyesight to macular degeneration.  Before moving to Roosevelt, he lived in Fruitland and Erda, Utah, and he spent many winters in Yuma, Arizona.  
    He is survived by his wife, Wilma, of Roosevelt; his daughters, Lola Louise (Ronald) Evans, Taylorsville; Lois Eleanor (Nick) Hansen, Jerome, Idaho; Lena Joy Monson, Salt Lake City; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and siblings, Paul, Lavora, Kay, and Bar-dee, all of Idaho.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Ricky Ivan Newbold; a son-in-law, Mark Monson; and brothers, Henry, Dick, Boyd, and Doyle.
    In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Veteran’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.  
    Private graveside services held on March 25, 2015 in the Myton Cemetery.
