Gwennita Tahguv Reed

Gwennita Edna Tahguv Reed, age 56, of Ft. Duchesne, passed away December 18, 2023, at the Uintah Basin Senior Villa from a long illness.
    She was born June 18, 1967, in Roosevelt, to Allen Tahguv and Winnifred Pinnecoose.  She married Charles Conrad Reed Sr., on July 24, 2013, in Ft. Duchesne.
    Gwennita was always happy, even when going through her many health challenges throughout these last years.  She was an avid and skilled hunter and could out shoot Conrad, who taught her how to shoot a gun.   She enjoyed fishing, camping, going to Wendover, competing at Darts, and riding her two horses, “Buck Shot” and “Princess.”  She loved to raise the horses from the time they were born. 
      She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Native American Church.  She took part in Pow Wows, Sundances, and Bear Dances. 
    She treasured her grandkids and spending time with them.
    Gwennita is survived by her husband, Conrad; children, Maylene (Jason) Pinnecoose-Sam, Cideahzah (Gage) Cunningham, all of Ft. Duchesne; Taina Pinnecoose (Dorsey Dick), Towaoc, Colorado; mother, Winnifred Cuch, Ft. Duchesne; grandchildren, Raiden, Mimslin, & “Bear” Sam; Brockens Pinnecoose; step-children, Danielle Cesspooch, Conroy Reed, Conley Reed, John Reed, Conley Reed, John Reed, Charmaine Reed, Lenora Christensen; brother, Bradley (Tina) Pinnecoose, Vernal; great aunt, Claria Pinnecoose, and family; great-uncle, Lornie Sr (Gay) Pinnecoose and family; numerous other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and family.
    She was preceded in death by her father, Allen; her step-father, Alfonzo Cuch, Sr.; son, Sho Van Damm Pinnecoose; grandson, Jaycdin Sam and numerous other family.
    Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ft. Duchesne Community Building.  She will be taken to the Community Building on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
    Burial will be in the Randlett Cemetery.
