Gwen Dye Killian, age 68, returned to her father in Heaven on Friday, May 29, 2020, surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer.
She was born on September 8, 1951 in Roosevelt to Grover and Gracie Dye. She married Val J Killian on May 1, 1970 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had 4 children, Troy, Shelly, Shaunie and Josie.
As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had many callings in which she served. She also worked in the Vernal Temple for 6 years.
Gwen and Val started and ran a successful business for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She worked everyday alongside her husband on the family cattle ranch in Cedarview and in Colorado.
She always looked forward to being able to go and spend time at her cabin up on Diamond Mountain.
Gwen was a very caring loving and generous woman. She truly was a fixer and did everything in her power to solve all of our problems. She was very proud of the fact that she raised us all to be close and be each others best friends. She brought joy to everyone who knew her and was loved immensely by all.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years Val Killian, son, Troy (Chris) Killian, daughters, Shelly (Roy) Murray, Josie (Monty) Horrocks, grandchildren, Austin (Leesa) Killian, Dyllion (Shalese) Killian, Makalyn (Ty) Brinkerhoff, Maddy (Mike) Garner, McCoy Murray, Brody and Jarett Horrocks, great grandchildren, Avery and Ayden Killian, and Axell and Brexton Brinkerhoff, all of Roosevelt. Her siblings, Gerald (Julie) Dye, Idaho; Garn (Sue) Dye of Arizona and Gloria Clark, Vernal.
She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Shaunie Hogan, parents-in-law, Clyde and Joy Killian and her brother-in-law, Morgan Clark.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Neola Chapel. Viewings will be held on Monday evening at the Hullinger Mortuary from 6:00 - 8:00 and Tuesday at the church from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. Due to COVID -19, this service will be for family and close friends. Please use your discretion.
Burial in the Neola Cemetery.
