    Gloria Annette Grant Mountainlion, age 72, of Ft. Duchesne, passed away at her home on September 8, 2017.
    Gloria was born May 25, 1942 in Ft. Duchesne to Woodrow Herman Grant and Violet Mae Mart Starr.  
    She worked at Head Start for many years and was an advocate for children and their parents.  She spearheaded the Miss Ute Tribe Pageant Program and helped numerous girls to develop grace and poise.  She participated in Pow Wow’s and Sundance.  She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary.  She enjoyed tennis and spent many hours watching matches on television.  She bowled for many years and held many awards.  She loved traveling, gambling and had a wonderful bucket list, she fulfilled many dreams.  Her family was her everything, she cherished each of them.  She was very passionate about her grandkids.
    She is survived by her children, Sharon Martinez, Michael Martinez, Jevon (Shoshanna) Grant , 18 grandchildren and a sister Minnie Carol Grant, and special companion, her dog, Mr. Cooper Mountainlion.
    She is preceded in death by her son Ernest Edward “Eddie” Martinez, Jr., siblings, N. Jolene Mart, Leland St. Clair, grandchildren, Ernest Edward Martinez, III, Naomi MorningDove Martinez.
    Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Whiterocks Episcopal Church.  A wake will be held after 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at her home at the Sr. Apartments.
    Burial in the Ft. Duchesne Cemetery.
