Glen Tom, Sr., age 85, of Whiterocks, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at the Uintah Basin Medical Center.
Glen was born May 23, 1930 in Whiterocks, to Ignacio Tom and Wilhelmina Wamoire Tom.
Glen proudly served in the Marines during Korean War, working as a Demolition Combat Engineer. He was a member of the VFW #4519 He enjoyed fishing, hunting camping, spending time in the mountains, traveling, attending the Pow-Wow, Sundance, Peyote Meetings, doing beadwork, ceremonial dancing and gambling. He worked as a welder in Vernal for several years.
He is survived by his children, Glen (Hilda) Tom, Jr., Roger Dean Tom, Paulette Tom, Bettina Tom, Valorie Tom, Donovan Tom, step-daughter, Rose Ioupe, many honorable grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Denise J Tom, grandsons, Ordoico Paradez, Milo Ioupe, siblings, Orson Tom, Archie Tom, Richard Tom, Lawrence Ignacio Tom Oliver Tom, and Ethel Tom.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the John Harmes Cemetery, with military honors presented by the Veterans of Foreign Wars #4519, American Legion Post #126, and the Marine Honor Guard. A wake will be held after 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Whiterocks Community Building.
