Gena Simmons

    Gena Marie Horrocks Simmons, age 46, of Roosevelt, Utah, passed away on January 9, 2025.
    Gena was born on June 16, 1978 to Roger Duane Horrocks and Richardina Tom.  She married Duffy Simmons and they later divorced.  Duffy and Gena were blessed with three children, Earl, Meridyth, and LaTreon.
    Gena cherished spending time with her family and was a very outgoing and kind woman.  She loved family reunions and proudly took home a few horseshoe trophies, a game she absolutely loved.  Gena was given the gift of "gab", and no one was a stranger for long, she could talk your ear off.  She had several hobbies which included painting and bead work.  She loved spending time in the mountains with her family camping, hunting, and fishing. She enjoyed teaching her dog Epsie new tricks.  Gena was very open-minded and accepting and was always willing to help people in need. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
    Gena is survived by her three children, Earl (Dean), Vernal, Utah, Meridyth (Riley), Scranton, North Dakota, and LaTreon, Scranton, North Dakota, three grandchildren Aralico, Kyree, Sitka, and a baby girl on the way, her Father Roger Duane, her half siblings and numerous Uncles, Aunts, Nephews, Nieces and Cousins.
    She was preceded in death by her mother Richardina Tom, and her grandparents Richard Tom, Ora Perry Tyler, and Roger and Ada Horrocks.
    Funeral services will be held Friday, January 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.,at the Whiterocks Community Building, (11388 N Whiterocks Road, Whiterocks, Utah). .  A wake will be held after 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at the same location..
    Per Gena's request, cremation will follow the services..
