Freda Beth Dye Campbell, age 74, of Duchesne, passed away November 6, 2017, at the University of Utah Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born May 28, 1943, in Neola, to William Freeman and Laura Lavon Lawson Dye. She married Doug Campbell on October 8, 1964, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Freda was a registered nurse and had worked for many years at the Uintah Basin Medical Center and then in a doctor’s office in Kanab. She then worked as a secretary for the city of Fredonia, Arizona. She was in the service of others for her entire life. She was very interested in the Native American Culture. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as Relief Society President and in a variety of other callings. After her retirement, she jumped head first into family history and indexing – she has indexed over 200,000 names. Her grandchildren were her #1 priority and she would often travel to watch them play sports, as well as pile as many of them as possible onto the four-wheeler.
Freda is survived by her husband of 53 years, Doug, Duchesne; children, Brett (Kay) Campbell, Sandy; Scott (Kimberly) Campbell, Riverton, Wyoming; Shane (Kara) Campbell, Neola; Ryan (Jann) Campbell, Lehi; Jana (Kevin) Foggin, St. George; 23 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; brothers and a sister, Lavon (Keith) Mair, Neola; Larry (Thelma) Dye, Myton; Norman (Margo) Dye, Roosevelt; Bill (LaReen) Castledale; and Lindon (LaVae) Dye, Neola.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at the Neola LDS Chapel where a viewing will be held that morning from 11:00 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Burial will be in the Neola Cemetery.
