Emerson Boyd Serawop, age 55, of Ft. Duchesne, passed away October 28, 2015, at the University of Utah Hospital after years of kidney failure.
He was born January 22, 1960, in Roosevelt, to Ralph Joe and Mary Sue Nanatz Serawop. He married Thelma Lee in December of 2001 and she died March 1, 2005.
Emerson went to trade school in Chicago where he became a welder and iron worker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being in the mountains, and teasing everyone (however, he could dish it out, but he couldn't take it). In his younger days he was a Sundancer. He was very generous, willing to give the shirt off his back, and he was always willing to help.
He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and enjoyed being around them.
Emerson is survived by his daughters, Vera (Eric) Goldesberry, Tulsa, OK; Mary Serawop, Salt Lake City; adopted daughter, Nyhree Serawop; 9 grandchildren; sister Denise Serawop Curry, Ft. Duchesne; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma; sons, Karl, Teddy, and Emerson; brothers, Gaylon, Geoffrey, Ralph and Gordon, and parents, Ralph and Mary Sue.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 2, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., at the Ft. Duchesne Cemetery.
