Elwin Deloy Young, age 64, of Myton, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Uintah Basin Rehabilitation and Sr. Villa from a battle with brain cancer.
Elwin was born March 4, 1951 in Roosevelt to John Lewis and Nondas Morrell Porritt Young.
Elwin was a mechanic who could fix about anything that was placed before him. He loved automobiles and enjoyed the challenge of working on them. He was known as the fix-it man in Myton and almost everyone, child and adult would go to him to have a tire repaired. He enjoyed 4-wheeling, camping and going to the mountains. He delighted in his nieces and nephews and loved to spend time with them.
He is survived by his siblings, LaVern Young, Myton; Robert Young, Riverton, WY; LaDee (Rodney) Clark, Ronnie (Terrie) Young, Marvin Young, Louanna (Walt) Burdette, all of Myton; sister-in-law, Jewel Young, West Point; brothers-in-law, Ed Phelps, Clinton; and Darwin Peterson, West Jordan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Garold Young, Dixie Peterson, Von Young, Gary Young, and Kathy Phelps.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Myton LDS Chapel. A viewing will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
Burial in the Roosevelt Memorial Park under direction of the Hullinger Mortuary.
