Elberta Ruth Scudder Freston, age 91, of Roosevelt, passed away February 8, 2016, at the Uintah Basin Medical Center.
She was born March 21, 1924, in Springfield, Illinois, to Harry H and Maude Snyder Scudder. She married Fernie Delbert "Jim" Huett, the love of her life, on April 27, 1946. Dorrant Freston on April 18, 1996, and he preceded her in death by only two weeks on January 25, 2016.
Elberta worked during the war in the shipyards where she learned to weld which she did all of her life until she got a pacemaker in 2009. She was extremely skilled at it and was quite disappointed when she had to give it up. She also worked as a quality control supervisor at a precision technology company and as a registered nurse. She enjoyed flower gardening, horse-racing, watching the Utah Jazz, working on cars, and raising peacocks and chickens, but most of all she loved to fish!
She was the best mom ever and was always there for whomever needed her. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She could tell so many funny stories. She will be missed and loved for always.
