Elaine Stevenson Stevens age 90, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022, to join her husband Jerry D Stevens who passed away on Easter Sunday last year.
She was born on July 16, 1931 in a two-room log cabin on the family farm in Mountain Home, Duchesne, Utah to parents Aaron and Virginia Walker Stevenson.  It is said that the two grandmothers in attendance at her birth argued over who would cut the umbilical cord.
Elaine married Jerry D Stevens on September 8, 1951.  He died April 4, 2021.   Jerry and Elaine started their married lives in Ogden and Roy, Utah and moved to Morgan, Utah in 1961.  They later moved to back to the farm where Elaine was born in Mountain Home, Utah.  That farm became the gathering place for her children and grandchildren who were always welcomed with open arms.  Elaine loved cooking for her family.  We enjoyed her weight-watchers soup!  We spent “quality” time there, dyeing and hunting Easter eggs, feeding lambs, exploring the fields, fishing, and just shooting the breeze on the back porch viewing “God’s country.”
Mom loved gardening and especially growing flowers.  Her iris beds were spectacular with blooms of many colors and varieties.  Everyone loved her doughnuts, which the deer hunters ate even if they did look like flat tires after a few days.  Mom also donated many hours cutting and perming hair for her family and friends.  She devoted herself to caring for Dad for several years before he passed.
She is survived by five children:  Susan (Rex) Wingle, Jerry D (Anita) Stevens, Jr., Dennis (Anne) Stevens, Tom (Terrie), and Tim Stevens.  She and Dad also helped to raise three grandchildren: Derrick, Kayla, and Crystal Stevens.  She has 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.  Mom is also survived by four siblings: Dan (Carol) Stevenson, Parl (Roberta) Stevenson, Henry (Ann) Stevenson and Jeff (Marilee) Stevenson, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings: Alice, Aaron, Jr., and John (Wilda) Stevenson.
The family wants to extend a huge thank you to Tim and Jerry who have dedicated their time, hard work, and love into making sure our parents and the farm were well cared for.
Service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 12:00 noon at the Hullinger Mortuary.  A viewing will be that morning from 10:30 am - 12:00 noon.
