Elaine Pike, age 76, of Myton, passed away November 11, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born September 15, 1942, in Provo, to Aldon Cecil and Ada Peterson Fenn. She married Stewart Pike on January 7, 1966, in Ely, Nevada.
Elaine’s first love besides her family was horses. She helped Stewart train many horses for racing and it was her job to enter them in each race. Her last wish was to have her husband continue racing the newly purchased horses to give them a chance to run before retiring. They have twenty-two retired horses and two currently running.
Elaine was a very sweet woman who had many friends throughout the Uintah Basin. She had been a member of the Chariot Association and had a great group of friends in the horse racing community in the Basin. She made the best noodles, potato salad, and worked in her yard making it just right. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She had been a First Lady of the Ute Tribe when her husband was chairman of the Business Committee. Her children are all of Native American descendancy and are enrolled tribal members.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Stewart, of Myton; her children, Alison (Jim) Sixkiller Whipple, Loma, Colorado; Christa (Richard) Kofford, Myton; Cleve (Brittney) Pike, Heber City; 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, brothers, Ronald “Butch” (Francine) Fenn, Neola; Michael “Chipper” (Patricia) Fenn, Price; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kolene; parents; brothers & sisters, Bonnie Dean, Lloyd, & Richard “Packy” Fenn.
Services will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary. There will be a visitation at her home in Myton on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. and a visitation on Thursday at the Mortuary from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m.
Burial will be in the Roosevelt Memorial Park. Condolences
