Elaine Pigeon Lee, age 90, of Neola, died on March 9, 2021, at the Uintah Basin Sr. Villa in Roosevelt.
Elaine was born on July 23, 1930, in Ft. Duchesne, to Alison and Claudia Atwine Pigeon. She married Robert Hank Lee on August 18, 1959. He died on November 18, 1966.
Elaine attended trade schools in Denver, Colorado and Madera, California. She then worked as a teacher and a cook for the Ute Indian Tribe Head Start. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary of Ft. Duchesne for many years. She was a talented bead worker and quilter, and enjoyed camping, attending Sundance and Powwows, and liked to tag along with her family on their travels.
Elaine is survived by a daughter-in-law, Mattie Lee, six grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, her children, Thelma Lee Santio Serawop, Virgil (Mattie) Lee, and Gordon Lee; grandson, Lane Lee, and her seven siblings, Marie Atwine, Ruth, Marjorie, Ilo, Rupert, Clyde, and David Pigeon.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at 10:00 AM at the Neola Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A viewing will be held that morning from 9:00 - 9:45 AM at the church. Watch the Live-Stream of the Funeral Service here and at the link below
