Ednal S. Simmons, age 97, of Whiterocks, passed away April 6, 2021, at the Uintah Basin Medical Center.
She was born March 5, 1924, in Tridell, to Elbert and Madena Sarah Merkley Smith. She married Donald B. Simmons on May 19, 1944, in Marysville, CA, and their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on January 24, 1946. He died February 4, 2001.
Ednal worked for many years as the Post Master for the Whiterocks Post Office and General store. She really enjoyed gardening, making her yard beautiful, picnics, and other outdoor activities. She also was an excellent quilter and seamstress, and loved to visit with friends. She had traveled all over the world and was an avid reader. She had a fondness for genealogy and had made a photo album for all of her children.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully and enjoyed her many callings.
Ednal is survived by her children, Clay Simmons, Uleeta Myore, Karissa Simmons, all of Whiterocks; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; siblings, LaDeena Christensen, Orem; Roberta Crozier, California; Venita (Hank) Karren, Missouri; Moana Burton, Ogden, UT; Orian Smith, South Carolina; Teri Waters, California; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her grandson, Duffy Simmons; her parents; son-in-law, Alloin Myore; and siblings, Bonnie Bates, Clella Smith, Vione Parrish, & Chester Smith.
Funeral services will held on Friday, April 9, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Whiterocks Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a viewing one hour prior. They will be live streamed here or can be viewed at the link below.
Burial will be in the Tridell Cemetery.
