Edith Christensen

Edith Christine Christensen, age 88, of Ballard, passed away October 16, 2016, at her home.
She was born May 1, 1928, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Joshua Taylor and Eva Mae Tebault Lanier. She married Jewel Christensen in New Jersey and they have been married for over 50 years.
Edith was always working. She was a loan officer for First Security, a manager at Magcobar (an oil field mud supply company), and after retirement, a foster grandparent at Eagle View Elementary. She helped with the Girl Scout program for many years, and volunteered with the Roosevelt City Beautification through the Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and being in the mountains. She adored children and helped raise many of her grandchildren and others.
Edith is survived by her husband, Jewel, of Ballard; a daughter, Cheri Dunlap, Vernal; sons, Jack (Lisa) Hamel, Alabama; Brad (Linda) Rosewood, California; 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Hamel; brothers and sisters, Dorothy Howerin, Marilyn Spier, Jack, Joshua, and John Lanier.
Per her wishes, she was cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
