Edelgard Ellen Van Zalinge, age 77, of Duchesne, passed away February 28, 2019, in Heber City.
She was born July 24, 1941, in Hamburg, Germany, to Wilhelm Fredrick and Erika Wulf Schultz. When she was 16 the family immigrated to the United States, specifically Utah, and she has lived her ever since.
She married Henry J. Van Zalinge on October 2, 1967, in Salt Lake City.
Edelgard enjoyed crocheting, her favorite holiday was the Christmas season, and she had a passion for her rich, German sweets – especially anything with custard. She loved her family and they were her everything.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Henry; children, Sonja Hillig, both of Duchesne; Michael (Heather) Wulf, Lambert, Montana; Randall (Chandra) Van Zalinge, Little Elm, Texas; Ken (Tonia) Van Zalinge, Kamas; 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Kaylyn Wulf, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Willie Wulf.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 8, 2019, at the Duchesne County Centennial Events Center where a visitation will be from 10-10:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Strawberry Cemetery.
