Dr. Norman Darrell Bell

    Dr. Norman Darrell Bell, age 78, of Whiterocks, passed away December 13, 2016, at the Uintah Basin Sr. Villa.
    He was born November 11, 1938, in Ogden, to Darrell Alma and Dortha Caroline Larsen Bell.  He married Lois Brown, and they later divorced.  He married Patricia Ann Price on October 5, 1985, in Las Vegas, NV.  They were later sealed in the Vernal LDS Temple.
    Norman attended Brigham Young University and the University of Utah, and then went on to the University of California where he received his doctorate of Psychology.  He was then employed by the federal government as a Psychologist for the Navajo and Hopi tribes in Pinetop, Arizona and then with the Ute Tribe in the Uintah Basin.  He loved working with members of the Ute Tribe and had many friends.  His hobbies included yard work – his was immaculate–, tinkering with wood working and stained glass, and painting.  He had a great love of the gospel of Jesus Christ and was an ordinance worker for many years at the Vernal LDS Temple.  He also served faithfully in many capacities in  the Whiterocks branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He knew the scriptures inside and out and could answer any question.  
    Norman is survived by his wife, Patricia, Whiterocks; children, Lesley Jacqueline Bell, California; Chad Norman (Rebecca) Bell, Layton; step-children, Rhonda Teresa (Kenneth) Drake, Phoenix; Lisa Carol (Rick) Michke, Port Angeles, WA; 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Lowanna) Bell, and  James (Karen) Bell, both of North Ogden.  
    He was preceded in death by his sister Narlene Baird.
    Funeral services held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Whiterocks LDS Chapel.  
    Burial in the Neola Cemetery.
