Douglas Ivan Robinson

Douglas I. Robinson, age 87, of Fruitland, Utah, our beloved brother, husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, passed away Dec. 27, 2023 in his home surrounded by his family.
    He was born to Ernest Ivan and Mildred Garrett Robinson on April 6, 1936, in Salt Lake City.  He married Sharon Hamilton on January 18, 1958, and their marriage was later solemnized on July 8, 1965, in the Salt Lake Temple.
    Douglas was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  He served in many callings and as the Branch Clerk in their little Fruitland Branch for many years.  He loved the Lord and serving him.
    Some of his favorite times were spent with his family, in the mountains camping, hunting and fishing.  He loved riding horses, building things and doing woodworking.  He also loved trains! He spent many fun hours with his children and grandchildren, building and playing with trains.  They especially loved it at Christmas time when he set his trains up around the Christmas tree.
    He enjoyed taking little trips with Sharon, his sister & her husband, and many of their friends.  They went to Mount Rushmore, Sheep Creek, Flaming Gorge, Hole in the Rock, Yellowstone and many other places.  
     Douglas is survived by his children, Brian (Diane) Robinson; Connie (Daryl) May, Nathan (Kathy) Robinson, Michael Robinson, Aaron (Tie) Robinson; 21 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan & Mildred Robinson; wife, Sharon; sister, Linda Cline; parents-in-law, Kay & Helen Hamilton; brothers-in-law, Marion Grant Farley, Lyman Taylor;  and twin grandsons, Shane & Benjamine Robinson.
    A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Fruitland Chapel in Fruitland Utah.  There will be a visitation prior to the services at the church from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m.
