Dorothy Brimhall Slaugh, age 83, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family, January 28, 2017 at the Villa Care Center in Roosevelt, Utah.
Dorothy was the ninth of ten children born to Jesse T. and Veda Collett Brimhall on February 18, 1933, in Draper, Utah. She married Ralph W. Slaugh on September 30, 1960. They combined their seven children and added three more girls to make their family complete. Their family was sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on January 21, 1966.
Dorothy was born with a kind, loving heart and a desire to care for and nurture those around her. She fulfilled her life-long dream of becoming a nurse in 1982, when she graduated from the UBATC as an LPN. She began working for Duchesne County Hospital in the newborn nursery. She took care of many babies and loved each one. She knew they were a gift from God.
After retiring from the hospital, she and Ralph served in the Detroit Michigan Mission from 1991 to 1992. Her life was centered on loving and serving others, especially her family. She was happiest being surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren. She faithfully served in many callings throughout her life, and she shared her testimony and love of Jesus Christ with everyone she met. She had a love and an unwavering testimony of the gospel.
She is survived by her loving family; husband, Ralph W. Slaugh, Roosevelt; children: Delbert (Cathy) Slaugh, Milikin ,Colorado; Nila (Steve) Wagner, Eagle, Idaho; Charlie (Chris) Waller, Fruita, Colorado; Vauna Slaugh, Grand Junction, Colorado; Julie (David) Hansen, Salt Lake City, Utah; Marianne Pack, Neola, Utah; David (Michelle) Pack, Vernon, Connecticut; Jennie (Brent) Benson, Roosevelt, Utah; Beth (Kathy Shiroky) Slaugh, Panguitch, Utah; Susan (Doug) Betts, Roosevelt, Utah; brother: Gary Brimhall; sisters: Glenna Peir and Norma Taylor; 28 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Roosevelt 1st and 4th Ward building on 32 So. State St Roosevelt, Utah. A viewing will be held that morning from 9:30am to 10:45 am.
Burial in the Roosevelt Memorial Park.
