Donald Ray Stacy, age 80, of Talmage, passed away peacefully at his home on October 13, 2015.
He was born February 28, 1935, in Fredericktown Missouri, to Herman Roy and Lora Parsons Stacy. He married Cherokee "Cherry" Rose Couch on February 28, 1970, in Reno, Nevada. .
Don worked nearly all of his life driving truck; beginning at the age of 16 as a Wonder Bread driver. Throughout his life he hauled logs in California and Idaho, cattle and equipment in California, water and oil in the Uintah Basin oil fields. While in Alaska, he worked as a warehouse foreman on the Alaska Pipeline in Valdez, as well as owned an auto body and mechanic shop.
In his spare time he enjoyed wood working, fishing, and helping his neighbors. His true passion was being outdoors, particularly when his family could join him. He regularly attended the Roosevelt Baptist Church with his wife, daughter, and grandkids.
Don was a loving father and grandfather, and adored his wife of 45 years.
He is survived by his wife "Cherry" of Talmage; children Debbie (Troy) Petree, CO; Danny Stanley, TX; Cindy Whitehead, OK; Patty (Rick) Stacy-Roberson, CA; Dawn Marie (Rick) Ford, MO; Andrea Stacy, VA; Teresa (Austen) Swisse, Roosevelt; 19 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob (Kerry) Stacy, Charles Stacy; and a sister, Joyce Stacy, all of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings.
Memorial services will be held at Roosevelt Baptist Church on Tuesday the 20th of October at 12:00 noon.
