Donald LeRoy Reed, age 71, of Whiterocks, left and went on his journey to be with the Lord on Friday, June 17, 2016.
Donald was born July 17, 1944 in the Ft. Duchesne Indian Hospital to Ilois BeKenneth and Ezilda Margaret Van Reed. He served in the US Army as a MP during the Vietnam War, stationed in San Francisco, CA. He married Nancy Poowegup in 1984.
He was a born again Christian and was proud of his Uintah Band Heritage. He was a Sundancer and coached numerous sports. He took in many of the children he coached because of the love he had for them and also many family members. He worked at Thunder Ridge with troubled youth and in the oil field for 30 plus years. He was a great provider for his family and always worked hard.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Reed, children, Dean (Shelly) Lynn Reed, Anessa Poowegup, LeRoy Reed, JonDon Reed, Alyassa R (Sili) Maile, Malissia (Hoomphanh Vanvilay) Reed, Donavon (Jesse Pete) Reed, Jon B (Norma) Reed, Sr., Ronalda (Arthur) Silva, Rondra (Dustin) Murray Teague, Donna (Tim) Ignacio, godson, Johnny Maez, siblings, Stuart Reed, Franklin (JoAnna) Reed, Bruce (Dixie) Hendricks, Margaret (Raymond) Wissiup, Cordie Secakuku, Roselda Ann Jones, 46 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, children, Brucie LaSal Reed, Devin Reed, siblings, Colleen R Gardner, LaWanna R Tabbee, Robert Reed, and Russell Reed.
Graveside services held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 9:00 a. m. at the Reed Farm Creek Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by the VFW Post 126 and the Utah National Guard. A wake will be held after 4:00 p.m. on Monday at the Whiterocks Community Building.
