It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Donald Dice Biggs, who embarked on his next great adventure on October 5, 2024, at the age of 95.

Born on June 11, 1929, in Flint, Michigan, to Samuel and Mable Biggs. Even in his youth, he displayed the remarkable tenacity and singular wit that would become his hallmarks, enriching the lives of all he encountered.

Don's life was a tapestry woven with threads of adventure, resilience, and boundless love.  His journey, far from ordinary, began in the shadow of the Great Depression, a time that forged within him an unwavering work ethic and an enduring appreciation for family.  He answered the call of duty, serving his country as a Naval Gunner aboard the USS Gurke, sailing the vast expanse of the Sea of Japan and the Pacific.

With unwavering determination, Don built a career that spanned continents, sharing his expertise in refinery hydrocracking across Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.  He was a builder of homes and refineries, a champion of philanthropic causes, a lover of cats, and a golfer who quietly celebrated every sunk putt.  But above all, Don was a man who touched countless lives with his mischievous spirit, his open heart, his ever-present humor, and his unwavering willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need.  His memory will forever be a beacon of warmth and generosity to all who knew him.

Don's legacy is one of lasting impact and he will be forever remembered for his ability to let his humor and wit shine through, even in times of strife and great pain. It was remarkable to see that even in his final moments, he was able to make his family, and the medical staff around him smile.

Donald is survived by his wife, Sandra Biggs; his daughter, Terry Hillman; his sons, Phillip and Sam Biggs; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, who will carry on his spirit of generosity and compassion.

He was preceded in death by his first son, Donny.

A celebration of Don's extraordinary life will be held at Schwab-Matthews Mortuary in Montpelier Idaho on October 12, 2024 at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don's name to Shriners Children's Hospital (https://lovetotherescue.org/).

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 12th, at 12:30 PM at the Montpelier City Cemetery.  A viewing will be held prior to the services at Schwab-Matthews Mortuary from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
