Dixie Lee McConkie Harding, age 75, returned home to the arms of her loving Father in Heaven peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, March 9, 2020.
Dixie was born the second child of 5 to Lyrad Charles McConkie and Ilene Jenkins McConkie on March 7,1945 in Mount Emmons Utah. Dixie graduated from Altamont High school, and then Snow College.
She married the love of her life, Leon Gilbert Harding, June 13, 1964, at her childhood home. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake temple.
Dixie worked the family ranch with her dad and loved it. She loved to fish, hunt and spend time in the mountains. She also loved to sew, quilt, cook, crochet, garden, and most of all spend time with her family. Dixie went to work at Moon Lake Electric and retired in 2003. Throughout her life Dixie taught primary, young women's, and cub scouts. She made friends everywhere she went and cherished the community and friendships she made over the years.
Dixie is survived by her husband, Leon Harding, her children, Dixon(Jeanie) Harding, Terry(Michele) Harding, daughter, Kamee Harding, and grandchildren, ChyAnn, Jessica, Jed and Kilee. She is also survived by her sisters, Shirley Riley and Susan (Robin) Reynolds , sister-in-law, Becky McConkie, and by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jeanie (Larry) Beal and her brother, Shawn McConkie.
Dixie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Altamont Chapel. Viewings will be held on Friday evening at the Hullinger Mortuary from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m.
Burial in the Altonah Cemetery.
