Delma Gibbons

Delma Rosalia Gibbons, age 92, of Gusher, passed away November 17, 2024, at the Uintah Basin Medical Center.

 She was born January 28, 1932, in Roosevelt, to John and Nettie Mae Bowers Tryon. She married Daryl Grant Gibbons on March 3, 1971. 

 Delma worked in her earlier years as a nurse’s aid at the Stewart’s Care Center in Roosevelt. She was a loving and caring person who took great pride in raising her family and keeping her home well cared for. One of her favorite pastimes was growing her beautiful flower garden, and she made a great light show every Christmas. She was loved by everyone who met her and she loved them in return. She had a great sense of humor, even to the end, but you needed to take great care not to make her mad! She was a cattle rancher with her husband and she worked just as hard and did everything on the farm. She really enjoyed watching the new calves in the Spring. 

 Delma is survived by her husband of 54 years, Daryl, of Gusher; daughters, Ruby (Kenneth) Richins, Vernal; LuAnn (Steve) Whitehead, Neola; 8 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. 

 She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Sandra Stevenson; her brothers, Joe, John, Bill Tryon; sisters, Lavell O’Neil, Mary Larsen, and Joey Miller; grandchildren, Billy Whitehead, Vince Pugmire Richins; and great-granddaughter, Ciarra Lynn Kuhr. 

 A private family service will be held and she will be buried in the Roosevelt Memorial Park.
