Debra Joe Shaw Stanton, age 61, of Roosevelt, passed away peacefully at her home on August 1, 2020.
She was born April 11, 1959 in Roosevelt to James K, Sr. and Hope E. Mortensen Shaw.
Debbie was raised on a farm in Montwell. She graduated from Union High School in 1977. She met her soul mate Steven Stanton in 1995 and they were married December 8, 1995. Steve gladly accepted and loved Debbie’s three children as his own and they added two more along the way.
Debbie enjoyed reading and she and Steve loved fishing anywhere they could. Her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and that was very important to her.
She is survived by her husband, Steven, of Roosevelt; children, Sarah (Jeff) Case, Smithfield; Melissa (Josh) Murphy, Roosevelt; Alexander (Bailey) Murphy, Herriman; James Stanton, Rabeckah Stanton, both of Roosevelt; her grandchildren; Gavin, “Peanut,” Ella, Willow, Addisyn, and Dalton; children she helped raise, Matthew (Becky) Matkin, and their children, Hunter, Trapper, Chester; Andy (Natalie) Labrum and their children, Caleb & Kylynn; Inon (Liz) Labrum and their children, Joshua, Luna, & Raevan; Rod Higbee’s son, Kade; siblings, James Kent (Paula) Shaw, Jr., Cedarview; Gwenith Shaw (Dave Knoll), Coeur d’Alene, ID; Leigh Ann (Steve) Hardman, Bluebell; Johna (Arnie) Hardman, Franklin Shaw (Dee Goble), both of Montwell; mother-in-law, Valorie Haslem; sisters-in-law, Krystal (Troy) Fabrizio all of Hanna; Suzy (Bill) Bagshaw, Sandy Stanton, all of West Jordan; best friend, Jean Clausen, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; nephews, Steven Kellum, Jr., Eric Hardman; grandparents; and son by choice, Rodney Higbee, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m . at the Hullinger Mortuary. A viewing will be held from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m.
Burial in the Cedarview Cemetery.
