Deanne Janet Asay Eldredge, age 86, of Neola, passed away December 17, 2023, at her home.
She was born May 3, 1937, in Price, to Seth Burns and Lora Johnstun Asay. She married Gordon Reed Eldredge on June 28, 1956, in the Salt Lake Temple. He died February 26, 1999.
Deanne loved her family, the Church, and life's activities. Music and singing were a big part of her life and she performed often in the community and in Church. She taught dance for fourteen years, and enjoyed helping her students get ready for dance performances. She was multi-talented, because she loved learning new skills, like painting, ceramics, knitting and crocheting, leather work, bowling, horseshoe pitching, and writing. She was also an avid reader and had a large library. In recent years she got quite good at coloring. Deanne was involved with the Socialette Club and the Jr. Miss Pageant, which she brought to the Basin.
She was fun loving and enjoyed Asay family reunions and her annual sisters' parties at the Eldredge family cabin in Uintah Canyon. She was always supportive of and attended her children's sporting events and performances. She loved her grandbabies and would spend as much time with them as possible. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various callings.
Deanne is survived by her children, Cameron Eldredge, Saratoga Springs, Utah; Kevin (Annie) Eldredge, Nauvoo, Illinois; Kelly (Mike) Robb, Highland, Utah; Karmin Eldredge, Neola; 16 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; siblings, Owen (Betsy) Asay, Salem, Oregon; David (Donna) Asay, Rexburg, Idaho; Utahna Versluis, West Haven, Utah; Becky (Norman) McClellan, Orem, Utah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; her parents; an infant son, Cory Dee Eldredge; siblings, Carma Harding, Sherman Asay, Betty Steinfeldt, and Karen Petersen.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Neola 1st Ward Chapel. There will be a viewing that morning at the church from 9:30-10:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Neola Cemetery.
