Dean Rowley

Howard Dean Rowley, age 88, of Talmage, passed away October 9, 2018, at the Uintah Basin Sr. Villa.
He was born June 8, 1930, in Mountain Home, to Howard Thompson and Evelyn L. Hitchcock Rowley.  He married Betty Jenson on April 28, 1951, in Elko, Nevada.  They were sealed in 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Dean was a co-founder and co-owner of Mountain States Fence Company in 1963 and helped run it until he retired in 1985.  He also ran a farm, raising cows on the property that is now Wheeler Historic Farms in Salt Lake City.  He really enjoyed traveling all over the country, which he was able to do because of his job. He also liked to fish, camp, hunt, and ride motorcycles. He had been a ditch rider for a few years for Talmage and Utahn.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and helped with the Boy Scouts for a few years, a calling that let him build Pinewood Derby cars, something he absolutely loved to do.
Dean is survived by his children, Lorraine (Bob) Taylor, Walnut Creek, California; Diane (Alan) Watts, Kyle (Jennifer) Rowley, both of Salt Lake City; Gayle (Vicki) Rowley, Lawton, Oklahoma; Lyle Rowley, Salt Lake City; 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Jean (Bill) Workman, Pocatello; Maurine Lindsay, Pleasant Grove; Stanley (Faye) Rowley, Roosevelt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dale Grant Rowley; grandsons, Franklin Watts and Christopher Rowley Bateman; brother, John Rowley; and a daughter-in-law, Michelle Gregehn Rowley.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Moon Lake Ward Chapel where a viewing will be held from 10-10:45a.m.
Burial will be in the Talmage Cemetery.
