Darwin Neilson

    Darwin Vere Neilson, age 72, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at his home in Roosevelt.  
    He was born May 1, 1942, in Bridgeland, to Vere Henry and Libbie Helen Clayburn Neilson.  Darwin spent his early days living in Bridgeland, Utah. Many special friends were part of his life and those friendships lasted for many years.  He graduated from Union High School.  Darwin married Shirley Pickup and they were later divorced.  
    Darwin was hard worker and really enjoyed driving truck.  He taught his children how to work and encouraged them to always do a good job. Darwin loved being in the outdoors were he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.  He loved horses and sharing that love with his kids.  A favorite hobby was working in his gardens and doing yard work – he had the best yard in Randlett.  He was also a great dancer.  His greatest love was for his family and being involved in their lives, taking great pride in his children and grandchildren.  
    Darwin is survived by his children: Tracy (Darcey) Neilson, Roosevelt; Shane Neilson, Randlett; Lance (Mindy) Neilson, Roosevelt; Nicona Neilson, Roosevelt; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  A sister, Edna (John) Wills, of Roosevelt.  
    Darwin was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Dale and Sharon Neilson.
    Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Roosevelt Memorial Park.  A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary.
