Virginia "Darlene" Ellingford, age 81, of Roosevelt, passed away September 17, 2015, at her home.
She was born September 11, 1934, in Long Island, New York, to Fernando and JeanA Zarro. She lived there and then moved with her God parents to San Francisco where she met the love of her life, Keith J. Ellingford. They were married on February 13, 1960. They moved to Salt Lake City and then to Washington State where she gained her love of the ocean and the Northwest. They moved to the Uintah Basin to be near his family in 1991. He died August 10, 1997.
Virginia's family always called her Dolly as a child, which later became Darlene. She was a very independent woman who loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid Seattle Seahawks fan, an excellent cook, and an immaculate housekeeper and flower gardener. She enjoyed working in her yard and had been awarded the Roosevelt City "Yard of the Month." She also liked a good glass of wine, reading, and her cats, "Bootsie" and "Eddie." She was dearly loved and her Italian feistiness will be greatly missed.
Darlene is survived by her children, Darlene (Robert) Edwards, Salt Lake City; Glenn K. (Carolyn) Ellingford, Roosevelt; grandchildren, Jeremy (Jennifer) Edwards; Matthew (Amber Fairbourn) Edwards; Sommer (John) Weight; Cody (Lindsey) Ellingford; Tanner (Katy) Ellingford; Keith (Kirsten) Ellingford; Kellie Ellingford; 12 great-grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Ellingford.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; son, Wayne; and brothers and sisters, Augustine, Daniel, John, Florence, Lee, and Irene.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the Tridell Cemetery under the direction of the Hullinger Mortuary.
