Daniel Orrin Thorpe, age 72, of Duchesne, passed away July 10, 2024, at his home.
He was born June 10, 1952, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Ellis and Becky Dalton Thorpe. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
Daniel worked all of his life driving truck – either over the road or in the oil field. He loved Peterbuilts but he always took pride in everything he drove and took care of his equipment. His hobbies were fixing up his beloved pick-up truck; camping, and being in the mountains, and his passion was riding motorcycles, especially his Yamaha. He had a good sense of humor and was very witty.
Daniel is survived by his wife of almost 28 years, Karen Thorpe; children, Jayke Von Thurrauch-Thorpe, Las Vegas; Dawn (Gene) Day, Wenatchee, Washington; Kenno (Dalicia) Poulsen, Duchesne; Daniel (Misty) Thorpe, Duchesne; Colleen Thorpe, Albuquerque, New Mexico; step-children, Marlo (Dawny) Davis, Michael (Cami) Davis, both of Salt Lake City; 24 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry (Linda) Thorpe, Tooele; a sister, Judy (Bruce) Argyle, Salt Lake City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Per his wishes, he was cremated.
